Chinese Astrology

I was born in the year 1985 but my animal sign is not the ox. Most people think that their animal sign simply depends on the year they are born, technically, this is true, but we are talking about Chinese years here. The Chinese New Year occurs sometime in the months of January or February. In 1985, the Chinese New Year was celebrate in February 19, this is the exact date that the year of the ox started. I was born in February 16, therefore I get the animal sign of the year before which is the rat. I'm a Yang person and my element is Wood.

I read somewhere about the characteristics of a person who was born in the year of the rat. I listed them below with my comments:

- have a tendency to be hot-tempered and overly critical.....So true.
- quick to anger and prone to spend freely.....True.
- suspicious.....I'm not sure.
- generous to the one they love.....Totally!
- usually be suitable in sales or as a writer, critic, or publicist.....This made me think.
- easily has friends.....I'd like to think they are true to me.
- best matches are Dragons (31 Jan 1976-17 Feb 1977) and Monkeys (16 Feb 1980-4 Feb 1981).....Call me! A dragon or monkey could also be older or younger by by a multiple of 12 (in years), but I prefer people who are born within the range specified above, thank you.
- have to avoid Horses.....Stay away! Or I'll shoot!

- gardening.....I like gardens, not gardening. There a huge difference.
